Goodbye Virginia, Hello Florida!…And All The In-Between

Over the past few weeks life has seemed to fly by at lightening speed. This is literally one of the first times I’ve had time to sit down and catch you up on all that we’ve been up to!

Since I wrote last we’ve enjoyed our last dinner at and said goodbye to the gorgeous Virginia mountains we had fallen in love with. Here’s a few of my favorite pictures of the place we were blessed enough to call home for a short time!

20131023-125652.jpgOnce we left Virginia we headed back to our hometown in North Carolina for a little over a week to help get ready for and celebrate my little sister Rebecca’s wedding!

It was an absolutely PERFECT country wedding held out in the field of the homeplace we grew up at. Although it was a super stressful, busy week – I can’t even begin to count all the priceless memories our big, loud, crazy family made that week!

As always, it was so good to be home again….and then good to head out on the road to a new place again also! I find that I have no desire to stay in any one place for too long these days. No matter how wonderful a place may be, moving on is always welcomed.

It turns out, maybe I do have a bit of a wanderlust spirit after all.

After finishing up with the wedding and trading in our truck for a diesel that will make hauling our camper a much less daunting task, we hit the road again. We went from a very small, autumn-like mountain town in Clifton Forge, Virginia we had enjoyed for the past two months to the MUCH bigger (and warmer) cities that Florida holds!

On our way to the end of our 11 hour journey we stopped over at a rest area to boon-dock for the night for the very first time. It was patrolled, so we felt safe. The only issues (that weren’t really issues at all) were that it was pretty noisy with all the trucks going in and out….and needless to say, a bit sticky in the Florida air.

This was the kids first time in Florida and they were loving all the big cities we drove through. And needless to say, you can’t very well drive right past Disney with an 8 and 7 year old and stay on their good side for long….

So stay tuned for more travel tales to come in our new state!….

Own less, travel light, live fully!

Isn’t it a great lifestyle, being able to move at the right time when seasons change and getting to see places you would have never seen. Florida is wonderful in the fall and winter time, a great place to stay. I will say you will need your coats and gloves and warm pants around the first of the year. Looking to meet you out on the road next year. Have fun in Florida!

Congratulations on the new truck. Life will be much better with a diesel.
